I just wanted to share with everyone that Corey (our 18 year old son who graduates from Anacortes High School this spring) was accepted to his dream college this week. He has talked about DigiPen Institute of Technology since his freshman year of HS and DigiPen is the only place he applied for next fall. He told us that this was the only place he wanted to go because they are the best in the field that he wants to work in (computer graphics/game design) so why apply somewhere else. Rick and I were a little concerned about him limiting his options like that, but we all prayed about it and he received his acceptance letter a few days ago. Needless to say, we have a beaming son walking around our house this week! He is VERY excited. Now - mom just has to get used to the idea of the first of her children leaving the nest. Thankfully, this college is in Redmond, WA - only a couple of hours away! It is right across the street from Microsoft and in the same building as Nintendo of America. What more could a boy want! Hayden is very proud of his brother too! He told me today when I was at Monica's for Grace's piano lesson - it was really neat to see him so excited for his brother!

I totally can go there with you Cheryl! Chelsea just went to ACU to interview for the Presidental Scholarship! Some days the fact that she is leaving us is soooo overwhelming--it makes it hard for me to breathe! Then I am gently reminded that she is not mine to keep...sigh!
