Even More Yarn Braids!

Taking out the old braids.

Almost finished!

I guess we are getting good because little "M" fell asleep while we braided.

The Finished Product!

Once again, Lisa and I (and Keri in the end) spent two days working on our friend's daughter's hair. "M" was so excited that her mom let us put long braids into her hair. She just smiled the whole time (when she wasn't saying "ouch" 'cause we pulled too hard or sleeping - see photos). She actually fell sound asleep toward the end - it was SO sweet! Anyway - my back is killing me and my fingers are numb, but I think it is worth the effort, don't you? And - every bit of practice gets us ready to have hair days with our daughters when they are finally home.
Have a great day!

  1. I'm so glad that I started this fun trend. I think all of the girls look so beautiful in their long braids. :)

I can't believe little M fell asleep. Too cute!

I am continuing to pray for all of you. I can't imagine the frustration of a file being lost for so many months. But ... I will pray that you can all go together and bring those kids home!!! Remember to take your yarn, beads, and scissors. Then, you can bring the girls home with their braids already done.

Hope to see you all soon!

    Laurel :)

  3. Yeah for braids! Tonight as we watched Annie I got 40 braids done to start off my weekend "hair party" For me, I have to do 40 at a time in a two hour movie...cuz a whole day for braids is not in my "time frame" I love that you and Lisa do "hair-apy" instead of "therapy" as you wait for your darlings!
    big hugs!
