I can't beleive we will be at Beacon House in 11 days! I'm just walking on air! I was able to talk to the girls on Tuesday morning (at 4am) - thanks Maria! They sounded so great - just happy and excited. This is the first time I've heard their voices since November - hard to believe. My good friend, Lisa, is leaving tomorrow to go get their daughter, Monica, so I will hopefully be able to talk to them again on Monday or Tuesday, and then we will be going!
Romana sent me an e-mail yesterday that said that David "got into" the Banku in the kitchen and was covered in it from head to toe. Banku is one of the main things they eat in Ghana. It's a thick white paste - kind of like thick mashed potatoes - that they use to pick up their stew or soup. She said he was in there mixing it with one hand (like he sees the women do when they are cooking) and eventually had himself covered in it. She said there were pictures taken, so I'll be sure to post them when I get them. So funny. I've also been told that David is trying very hard to walk - so sweet.
I was looking through all of the pictures that I had from my trip in November and I realized that I didn't have any pictures of me with Annamarie (except the one with all four of us that a volunteer took). Then I realized why - Annamarie took most of the pictures while I was there. She loved the camera and took pictures constantly. So - there are several pictures of me with David and with Naomi, but none with Annamarie. We'll have to fix that!
Thanks again for all of your prayers. The prayer request for this week is that the Visa appointment on the 28th goes well and that we get the Visas right away.
