More Ghana Pics!

Eating "chips" in the airport in Amsterdam. We spent 6 hours there in between flights.
First McDonald's experience in the Amsterdam airport.
They loved the french fries and the ice cream - nothing else!

On the airplane.

Having our last meal in the hotel in Ghana before flying home. Pizza and chicken! Yum!

Little David in our hotel room in Ghana.

Waking up in the hotel in Ghana on our last day.

Watching a movie (Peter Pan - their favorite) before
going to sleep on our last night in the hotel in Ghana.

In the airport in Tamale, Ghana, where we were stuck for seven hours because the one plane that flies back and fourth between there and Accra broke down.
Lots of good bonding time! LOL!

Here are a few more pictures from our trip to Ghana. We are doing very well and all just adjusting to each other and to life as a family. Learning what different words we have for things. For example, each morning AnnaMarie "dresses" her bed. We have "porridge" for breakfast, not oatmeal. French fries are "chips." Soda is "Fanta" even if it's Coke. You "plant" your hair - this is what they call braiding. Flip flops are slippers. Pajamas are "nighties." Pants are "britches."
We also found out that AnnaMarie can eat half a watermelon and 7 hard boiled eggs in a 2 hour period of time. They are always hungry. I just went down to tuck AnnaMarie in and she said, "Mom...I'm really hungry!" She had been eating and eating all evening. I told her she reminded me of the puppy, Roley, in 101 Dalmatians. He always was hungry and would constantly say, "I'm hungry Mama!" She loves that movie and she laughed and laughed. So - she had a banana and went to sleep.
They all sleep through the night - which is saving my sanity in the daytime. We are up early, but sleeping through the night is wonderful! There is a little testing of limits going on, but this is important in the attachment process and I think the kids are doing remarkably well. If I had to leave everything I'd ever known and go to a new place, I wouldn't do nearly as well as they are! They are all truly amazing!
More pictures to come!
