Verbal Referral

Washing Clothes at Beacon House

Just a few more details about our referral. We still do not have a written referral - that will come once all of the medical testing is finished on all of the kids. We have accepted the verbal referral, however, and these kids are considered ours unless we say "no" to the written referral.

So - saying that, let me tell you about our children. We are now going to be a family of eight! We are adopting three children (siblings). I don't want to post their names until they are legally ours, so we will just use intitals until then. The oldest is a sweet girl named A. A is 11 years old and is gentle, prayerful and loving. I was able to spend a lot of time with her when I was at Beacon House in May and I just fell in love with her.

Next is N. N is three years old and has personality times 100. When I was at Beacon House she would take my face in her hands (so that she could look me right in the eyes) and talk to me. She would ask me questions, talk about my necklace and shoes, ask me about where I live, etc. The whole time she would be holding my face so that I would look at her and give her my undivided attention.

Finally, there is D. D is currently 4 months old. D wasn't at Beacon House yet when I was there in May, so I haven't met him yet. In fact, we just saw a picture of him for the first time this last week. I'm told that David is such a sweet baby. I can't wait to hold him in my arms and kiss his little cheeks! He has very "kissable" cheeks!

Until these children are legally ours, I cannot post their photos on my blog. Time frame-wise we should have a court date (Romana will go for us) in early October. I should be able to go to Ghana to file our paperwork a week or so after that, and then we will go back (both Rick and I) in November to bring them home. Please pray that this goes quickly (in God's timing) and that the children are safe and healthy until then.

Rick and I (and Corey, Hannah, and Hayden) are so excited and feel so blessed that God is letting us share in the lives of these little ones! Praise Him!

  2. Cheryl,

My daughters would love to see your daughters when they get home. I just told Rachel who you were adopting, and she says that they shared a bedroom with your girls.

    Blessings,

    Laurel :)
