Slumber Party - Lydia and Margaret got to spend the night - the girls watched movies and ate popcorn and had a great time!
Birthday Cake - Barbie cake picked out from Safeway cake book. It was a tough choice, but Barbie usually wins with Annamarie.
The girls are all wearing "granny gowns" that were made over the years by Grandma C. These were all made for Hannah - one every year at Christmas time - I think there are 6 in all. This year Annamarie and Naomi each got a granny gown of their own. Lydia and Margaret decided to wear them, too, so they could all be twins. Thanks, Grandma!
The girls decided to have water balloon fights in their clothes - it's May in WA - not exactly warm weather yet. The water balloon fight turned into "baptizing" each other with buckets of water. It was so funny - they would say, "I baptize you in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" and pour the whole bucket over the head! Not exactly immersion, but they were definitely wet! LOL!
This was the family birthday party on Annamarie's actual birthday. She got two cakes this birthday - one with friends and one with family. Don't worry - they both got eaten!

It's hard to believe that Annamarie just had her second birthday here! Her birthday is May 4th - we celebrated it last year - a little late since we didn't get home until the 11th. This one was so much fun because we are all so much more settled in as a family. We had a great time and she had a blast with her friends and her sleep over. After all - what's a 12th birthday without friends spending the night??? Happy Birthday, Sweetie!

Hi Cheryl,
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!
Got your note on my blog. Good to hear from you.
Actually, we are not settled on the island. I had to move back to Lynden 8 weeks ago with the younger 4 children, while Jim and the teens stayed on the island. It's been TOUGH. Our house hasn't sold, and we can't afford anything on the island. Don't know what the Lord's plan is for us.
I saw Lisa and the kids a few times at middle school track meets, and met your friend with the middle school girl from Ethiopia. We chatted several times. Good to see a few of the BH kids, too.
Hope you are all doing well.
Laurel
