AfterI just wanted to show you what my kids do to chicken when they eat it. These are actual before and after pictures of the chicken wings that Naomi ate a couple of nights ago. She eats every last bit of the meat and any soft part of the bones, too. I know that any of you who have kids from Africa (and maybe other places) will be able to relate to this. They also suck the marrow out of the inside of the bones. Nice! I've heard it's really good for you, though, so I let them go for it. Naomi ate 4 chicken wings down to the bones that night. I love that there is no waste! Can't say that about my other kids who throw away the crust, skin, "dry part," "soggy part," "stale part," ...you name it. Have a blessed day!

Yeah for Chicken! My kids do the same thing! I think it is SUPER that you love this and let it be a part of the history of who they are. I remember being at Frankies with Romana and Heather and Vic got to the bone of the chicken and Heather leaned over to me and grabbed my hand sweetly and said "watch this Carrie, I love watching these kids suck the marrow out...it is such a treat for them anywhere they can get chicken" then she said with her precious HEather smile..."always let them keep that Carrie"
ReplyDeleteIt is etched in my memory....and I am so glad to this date that we eat chicken bones and eat a meal or so a week with our fingers just as the "new norm"
GREAT JOB mama!
LOL!!! My Cambodain children eat their chicken the same way. After being here with us for some years already, that bone chewing, knuckly crunching, marrow sucking is just the way its done. There is virtually no waste when our kids eat chicken, that's for sure! What sweet photos too!!
