Well - September has been quite a month. I think I will most likely only be able to update anyone who reads my blog once a month for a while - my life is a little crazy right now! LOL! The kids started school - it is going great. Annamarie is doing home school at our good friend's home down the street. She is able to be at school with her friends Lydia and Margaret Daily. They have also started a cooking club including their little brother, Jacob. So far they have cooked roasted chicken and homemade bread, baked pasta and homemade fococcia bread, banana bread, and zucchini bread. Yum! We reap the benefits every week of their club! Last weekend, Annamarie had a party for the members of her cooking club. She set up a table outside and cooked them fried plantains with homemade tomato sauce among other things. She was in and out of the house at least 20 times serving her friends. It was so cute!

Also this month, Naomi had surgery for her facial scars. We have talked about it for a couple of months now and she decided that she wanted her scars to be little. So - we talked to a pediatric plastic surgeon at Children's Hospital in Seattle and he said it was an easy procedure. So - last week, we went in and in about 40 minutes he was finished and said it went very well. She will have bandages until Monday, so we can't see how it looks yet, but she has just done so great! She is careful not to get them wet or to scratch them, and she can't wait to see what her new scars look like. She it such a little sweetie.

Can I just say how much we adore these children! Of course there are adjustments, as you can imagine, but they really are doing so well and we are just bonding more as a family every day. They are really amazing kiddos!

Well - I need to get all of these little ones to bed, but that is the REALLY basic update for now. We got to celebrate Monica Aydelotte's 6th birthday at the park and the kids loved dressing up in their princess costumes for the party. They love to dress up! David now weighs 25 pounds - he has grown so much! I keep on telling him to stop, but he won't listen. Naomi eats like a bird, so we are hoping she will gain some weight soon, but she is happy and healthy. Annamarie is happy and loves school. OK - gotta go!

Happy Fall! :)

ReplyDeleteThank you!
AWESOME to read your update!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures!
Ella would love to see her friend Naomi sometimes, not sure how we can schedule it with both of our busy schedules :)
We are also interested in hearing more about Naomi's surgery ... and whether it would be good for Ella to have the same surgery!
BLESSING Cheryl and beautiful family!
